Puderxucker (Erythrit)
Ground calorie-free erythritol for baking and dusting.
Everything becomes light with powdered sugar
Powdered sugar is made from erythritol. Erythritol is produced during the fermentation of dextrose made from corn starch. We use only GMO-free corn from the EU in the production process. We call erythritol Xucker Light and, as the name suggests, it has no calories. Xucker Light is therefore the perfect sweetener for anyone who wants to sweeten drinks or food without calories. In the powdered version, erythritol is suitable for making icing, as a glue for gingerbread houses, for stollen, for making shortcrust pastry, nougat and marzipan and for lightly sweetening cream. In nature, erythritol is found, for example, in grapes, pears and melons and does not unnecessarily burden the metabolism, as it is very easily absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract.
Baking with icing sugar - icing sugar instead of icing sugar
Icing sugar is great for baking. Erythritol usually crystallizes again after cooling. This can cause cakes or pastries to crisp slightly. If you want to avoid this effect, powdered sugar is the best choice. Its finely ground crystals are no longer noticeable even after cooling. Powdered sugar is therefore not only perfect for making cakes or pastries, but also makes a great glaze or allows cream to remain light, as it can lose its fluffiness due to the weight of the crystals when xylitol or table sugar is used. Icing sugar is also the perfect calorie-free partner for making sugar-free cheesecake, ice cream or marzipan. Icing and frosting on pastries were first mentioned in 1494 (source: "Wedding Cakes and Cultural History"/Simon Charsley). In 1655, the first recipe for making a cake icing was published. This consisted of egg white, rose water and "fine sugar". With the cupcakes the icing sugar celebrated its final breakthrough in the 50s. There it was used in a combination with butter and cream for the "frosting" of the small cakes. Instead of sugar-heavy icing, we recommend making calorie-free xugar icing. To do this, simply mix the icing sugar with water, lime or lemon juice.
Powdered sugar and other erythritol products
Erythritol is not only used in our powdered sugar. The range also includes Xucker Bronxe and Xucker Light. While icing sugar is mainly used in baking and in fine creams, Xucker Bronxe is particularly suitable for sweetening coffee, tea, cocktails and fresh lemonades. But it is also suitable for "candying" almonds or sweetening popcorn, as it is flavoured with a little apple extract. Xucker Light, on the other hand, can be used not only in drinks but also for various desserts and is the classic among Xucker's erythritol products.
